So after my lack of motivation here are some results. I decided that my lack of dressing up is purely due to laziness, which is impacting most of my life right now. So I decided that it's just not an excuse anymore, my life deserves better. Second by second my one and only life is slowly slipping away and I will never get that time back, so I should make it count, so that I can look back as a wrinkly old lady and say "Hell yea that was a life well lived". That's the idea anyway, and I'll stop being off topic now.
So up above we see me in another one of the vintage dresses I was considering getting rid of, but after wearing it fell in love with it again. I am obsessing about florals right now, and I love how different this one is, being that the flowers are huge and right in your face, and blue! And I'm wearing polka dot shoes just to be cheeky - you know you love it.
And yet another floral dress, but of a distinctly different style
I love the florals on this one too, because they are tiny and crazy, and purple! I got this is a random store in Singapore and I love it too bits.
I'm also liking my fringe a whole lot more now that I've gotten used to it. Plus I've also started to blow dry it so it falls like I want and looks nice, a little bit of extra work, but it is much closer to the look I want.
Now on a completely different topic, summer is in the air, Christmas is on the way and I am filled with a sense of expectation. Expectation of what - I'm not sure, but I feel like something good is on it's way. Have you started over indulging yet? I have....and will likely pay for it as I am attempting to get myself swimsuit ready for my summer road trip, wish me luck!
Peace out my lovelies!

Attempts at dressing up - at least a little bit

Needing motivation to dress
Lately I haven't been taking any outfit photos. I have stalled at bit on that front, which is odd because I was so excited in the beginning when I joined wardrobe remix and then started this blog.
I guess the point is that since my holidays started I have lived in my slob clothes - which is really not good enough. It seems that if I don't have a reason to dress up (maybe not as extreme as my masked friend in the picture) then I actually just don't dress.
Take today for example, it is about 4pm now, and I am still in my jammies, and robe. I spent the day watching Mama Mia on DVD with my mum (I got it for her for her birthday, and we saw it twice together in the cinema). So I didn't have a reason to dress because I wasn't even leaving the house. Although I did have the best intentions, I was going to go on a picnic that got canceled because of the weather.
So looking at my slovenly ways I have decided that it is just not good enough, I have so many beautiful clothes that deserve to be worn, and this should be reason enough to wear them. Just because no one in the outside world will see them it doesn't matter, the will be fulfillment their purpose. In fact what is the point in having all these clothes and barely wearing them?? Tomorrow I will make an effort I promise you, although I am going out tomorrow it is irrelevant, I will be dressing up just for the sake of dressing up.
I also think that this will help with my lack of motivation to get going with all the little odd jobs before my summer jobs begin. Also soon I will have have to wear a dreaded uniform for one of my jobs....only for around two weeks, but two weeks too long I say!
Now I know all you fashionable people nearly always look your best, but what motivates you to dress up, or dress at all? (Those jammies are so comfy...)
Peace out

Fringe benefits, on the fringe, and other fringe related puns
So I've been debating about changing my hair for a while, I done a lot to it, short, long, light, dark etc etc. So I dyed it a purplely brown that I've been liking - I am in dire need of a touch up though, but it has to wait till after Christmas. Well My hair is probably the longest I've had it in my life, as usually it's shorter, and I wanted a bit of a change but nothing major at the moment. However, I do want to cut it pixie short with a sweeping fringe, but I'm enjoying long hair at the moment so we'll see.
But I digress - so here is the result, I got a trim and a new fringe. This photo above is probably the best photo I have at the moment, and how I want it to look, but it's actually a lot thinner than I want because the hairdresser thinned my normally thick hair a bit too much. So hopefully it will be a bit better once some of the thickness returns and I will have that blunt thick look I was going for.
I haven't had a fringe in ages, and the last time I tried it, my hair was much shorter - and it turned out looking a bit ridiculous so I pinned it back until it grew out. I'm still getting used to this and I'm not entirely sure that I love it, probably because it makes my face look so different. Here is a picture of how it normally looks - although this isn't that great a photo so bear that in mind!
What do you guys think? Any hair adventures to share? I say adventures meaning the good and the bad, oh the hair cut shockers I could show you! What's your dream hair? At the moment I have two favourites, long and flowy and short and pixie-ish, if only I could make up my mind!
Peace out
P.S I have my very first official follower on blogger - you know who you are! I feel so validated and I love you! And thank you for your kind comments about my rejection - it helped me feel a lot better!

Playing around with picnik
Was playing round with the photo editor on flickr and this was the result - I like this effect, expect to see it much more often.
Wearing this awesome plaid shirt as a mini dress - I think it's a men's shirt but not entirely sure. I've been really attracted to plaid lately so this really appealed to me. I thought adding pink accessories would stop me looking too much like a lumberjack though...
Shirt - thrifted
Belt - thrifted
Tights- supre
Shoes - no1 shoes
necklace - diva
Also this is a two for one outfit post - here is a pic of the costume i wore the postgrad end of year party
The theme was 'Noah's Ark', decided to go as a Zebra. Was contemplating face paint but didn't have enough time. How i love the mismatched zebra print! Plus my hair is in a pony tail...get it....how I love silly puns.
Dress - Thrifted
Tights - Cosmic Corner
Belt - thrifted
Shoes - Hannahs
Peace out
Some new things, and some things new to me
I finally got round to uploading photos and all that entails, so here are some things that are making me happy at the moment for you guys to have a squiz at.
Firstly these shoes! There is a bit of a story behind them too. Firstly I saw these in black and fell in love with them, but they were a bit too expensive for me to justify buying them. However the other day I say them on sale, 15% off, and was so tempted. Then I saw them in another store for 25% off! But they didn't have the black, only the cream. So after some thought, I finally decided that the cream ones were awesome and different, and with the extra saving they were totally worth it. So now they are mine mwahahahaha and I love them, so here are more photos of their awesomeness.

Also I do believe I promised some photos of my thrifting trip. Here are pictures of the scarves. The orange and black one is huge, and it has a print of straw hats and flowers on it, how sweet is that! The green and blue one has these weird little round flowers on it which appeal to me for some reason, and the colour was just perfect.

Also here is the little dragonfly broach - it's wings are so sweet and delicate. My boy picked it out for me from a little bowl of them
Also randomly, I went a bit overboard at the shops the other day, and got this on impulse - for $6 yeah! It was 70% off, and looked really cool so I grabbed it in like 2 seconds flat. It wasn't until I started wearing it that I started to really like it. I call it my kissing elephants bracelet
I also bought some bras, and other random things, but not really interesting enough to share with you lovely people though.
There are more photos to come, photos of clothes that I promised some other bloggers I would post up, haven't quite got round to taking the actual photos but it is in the back of my mind!
Peace out

I have been living in a cave
So any way a run down of what has happened so far in my geeky little world.
My exams are finally finished and I can't tell you how good it feels! It felt like I was carrying a huge weight and once I stepped out of that exam it was all gone, and I could dance merrily down the corridor into the sunlight (because the weather has been amazingly nice so far). However without uni I always feel a little lost, with no purpose..how geeky is that! But will start various jobs soon, so it will be nice to have a little bit of a break
Now that my exams are done, I can finally make good on all my promises - which I will! Photos and posts to come, otherwise I would just be a dirty liar aye..... I plan to take some photos just after I finish this actually for those of you looking skeptical.
I felt like I had to post today, because I woke up feeling so much better, and that feeling was intensified when I read a post that the lovely Em of lick my cupcakes had wrote about all her girls and I was lucky to be included in a list of amazing women! Thanks Em for the lovely warm fuzzies and for being awesome! Now all together "Awwww" in the most non cheesy way.
Anyway lots of love your way soon

Vintage fun
I went vintage shopping today for the first time in ages, and as soon as my exams are over I am going back!
Due to the glowing review from Andrea I stopped by Two Squirrels on Cashel street (in Christchurch) and had a look around. I was not disappointed, while they are still building up all their treasures, they still have many lovely things to peruse. I ended up buying 3 vintage scarves, which I will post very soon, and had my eye on a couple of dresses, and an awesome zip up shirt, but my budget is a little tight. Oh! I forgot to mention the best part - they are running a competition to guess how many walnuts are in the huge glass jar, and if you guess right you can win a gift voucher! I hope I win, I hope I win!!
I also went over to Tete a Tete their sister store and had a look round. There is waaaay more stuff here, it is packed to bursting! They are a few items here too that I am dying to get my hands on, the vintage dresses are to die for. They also have a large selection of vintage jewelery, and I looooove vintage jewelery. I got a small little dragonfly broach here, but wanted sooo much more. There was a gorgeous butterfly broach that I fell in love with - and a pearl ring in a silver setting, but they were both waaaay out of my price range at the moment. However the boy was with me, and possibly got some good ideas for Christmas presents - here's hoping!!
Any way as soon as my exams are over I will be going back to both stores and having a nice long look around, and buying something beautiful - perhaps a dress to satisfy my obsession or a lovely little piece of jewelery. I promise some photos of my goodies soon, just so busy with study right now to get the camera out and load photos on my ancient laptop.

Almost forgot about the cupcakes
It's all a bit scary
Well Halloween is all about dressing up isn't it, here is my costume attempt. I was going for a 60s mod look tripping on acid basically. Few problems though, my hair would not cooperate and go as big as I wanted it. I also realised that no matter how hard I tried and how much glue I used, I really can't put on fake lashes, and they really were the center of the look. I still had fun with it though and was pretty happy with the end result.
Here's another shot
Basil was supposed to be scooby doo, but during the night he had other ideas, and decided to be a rubbish bin. When I caught him rooting round in it, I gave a yell and in his haste to get out this was the result
So did you have a good Halloween? What was your costume??
